Is it possible to be without fear?
Perhaps.
It depends on how you define ‘fear.’
Here are some of the most powerful short ideas that keep me happy and resilient:
Fear is an emotional response to a thought that looks like fear.
Fear diminishes when you look calmly and directly at the thing you fear.
You will fear the things you decided to fear.
You’re allowed to feel heightened senses when facing something scary, but it doesn’t mean you should avoid it.
No one on Earth has the power to decrease your ‘self-esteem’ because this is a made-up concept that does not exist.
Love, humour and enjoyment are like a bucket of water to the fire of fear.
Fear is often a sign that you care and, as such, indicates that the object of your fear is something to pursue.
Organising your life to do more of the things you fear will bring you more advantages than almost anything, because most people won’t want to join you in the ring.
We fear things because we fear a loss of our ‘self,’ which is another illusion.
If it seems no one else is scared, they are most likely hiding it well, if you yourself are scared (or they are simply not entertaining the thoughts you are having).
If you want more of a sense of meaning in your life, your soul calls for more of what seems dangerous to you.
Recklessness is not the same as courage. Doing more of the latter will heal you like ointment on a burn.
