Someone shared a poll recently asking how often their readers had used ChatGPT in the last week, and I was surprised at the results.
Few seem to use it at all, and most appear to be at least mildly annoyed that AI support like this exists.
It’s a tool. It can be used for good and bad. It will take jobs, that’s for sure. But it can also help improve and complement our lives when we use it intelligently.
I wouldn’t use ChatGPT to replace my writing, but I have been surprised over the year at the value it has served me (even if it isn’t always 100% accurate).
Here are some examples:
Finding the best places to live in Europe based on my preferences for buying low-cost land, cooler climate, surrounded by forests.
I plan to set up several residencies worldwide for locational flexibility and security, mainly in Eastern Europe.
AI has helped me narrow down my choices of where to live based on various criteria. Instead of trawling through maps and the Internet for hours, AI sends me an instant list of options with added explanatory detail.
For my query about finding land to buy, the suggestions ranged from the mountains near Sofia in Bulgaria to forest land in Estonia.
Getting some counselling support after struggling with low creative motivation for a while after quitting caffeine.
Film suggestions based on personal preferences.
I love using ChatGPT for suggestions on books, films, and other forms of media if I need new ideas.
Until recently, I found it hard to find new films or novels I wanted to watch based on my unique tastes and mood.
For example, I wanted to watch an adventure film based in the American North West, or I needed help finding books similar to Jeff VanderMeer’s quirky sci-fi Annihilation. ChatGPT delivers here.
Figuring out what European city is best to visit for dentistry savings.
Personal coaching support on what to do with my current YouTube channel.
I’ve been struggling recently to know what to do with my YouTube channel.
Given my current setup, I want to develop more focused niche videos, but I wasn’t sure how best to do this. ChatGPT gave me excellent suggestions, including a roadmap on precisely what to do, step by step, to set things up optimally.
The suggestion I chose was to use my old channel to send relevant subscribers to a fresh channel.
Ideas for Midjourney illustration prompts.
As you can see, I often use Midjourney (MJ) AI image-creator to create the artwork I use for some of my blog posts.
I have used ChatGPT to give me various suggestions for concepts I can prompt into MJ.
It can yield inventive ideas for images to use, which I then follow up by processing the image in MJ.
Advice on how much beef liver I should be eating each month based on my BMI without introducing risks of toxicity or Vitamin A overload.
Ideas for $50-100 price range Christmas presents for my dad, based on his preferences and personality.
Advice on increasing my earnings from the combination of information products and books I offer.
ChatGPT has proven to be an enlightening partner in growing my business.
It may not be able to set everything up for me (yet), but it has been a great help in spurring new ideas I can apply to my business to increase my earnings, simplify, and reduce stress.
Finding the best quotes for my book.
In a recent book I wrote, I needed ideal quotes to include at the start of each chapter.
I briefly explained the content and message of the chapter in question, and ChatGPT gave me a list of suggestions. I just picked the best.
This saved me considerable time.
Researching new ideas for articles.
I’m often full of ideas for things I can write about for my work, but I have found AI helpful in coming up with new ideas under a particular topic I hadn’t considered.
I ask it to list as many ideas as it can think of, and often, there’s one or two concepts in there I can use.
ChatGPT has also opened up a world of additional research I can use to support my arguments that I’d never previously had access to.
Book cover ideas.
I’ve written and released two books this year, and I designed the cover in both instances.
The process was made quicker, thanks to ChatGPT’s suggestions for cover ideas.
For my Art of Self Respect book, for example, I needed ideas for a cover, and out of a list, it suggested I use the lotus flower imagery to represent attaining a new level of enlightenment.
Figuring out what combination of residencies is best for tax deduction.
One of my aims in setting up several residencies is to reduce my tax as much as possible.
ChatGPT was a tremendous help in breaking down how my taxes are affected, depending on where I choose to live.
For example, I learned that I can set up a residency in Dubai without needing to live there to benefit from zero corporate tax while living in Bulgaria.
Hiking trail suggestions.
I recently visited Helsinki with a client, and we wanted to hike.
Due to limited time, we needed a forest hiking trail suggestion within 30 minutes of the city centre. ChatGPT provided several suggestions, one of which we chose.
This led to a superb day out without the stress of travelling too far out of the city for a similar experience.
Thanks for reading!

Thank you. These are great tips! I've avoided ChatGPT for several reasons, but I may dip my toe into the water. I never thought about using it for several of the things you mentioned.
Thank you for the tips, I use ChaptGPT a lot to answer questions in psychology and to give me story ideas. Nice article and very helpful.
