What will happen tomorrow?
Do you know?
Do you wish you knew?
Did you know that by wishing you knew, you complicate things?
We all want to know.
But some of us are a little more okay with not knowing than others.
Some can’t bear the fact.
Others have made peace with it.
Rich people living in Bali bungalows know just as much about what will happen tomorrow as you do.
Peaceful Zen monks meditating in Japanese monasteries know just as much about tomorrow as you do.
In fact, there are probably a handful of Zen monks worrying about tomorrow right this moment.
They say wishes are good things, but in this case, wishes make us cling.
They tighten our shoulders.
And they make us less receptive to what is happening right in front of you.
What is there?
Your head is swimming in the future.
And the present is ignored, waving at you, trying to grab your attention.
So you make a mess of the present while living in an illusion that never comes.
Be okay with uncertainty.
Let go of not knowing.
It will make the biggest difference.
