I’ve spent a sizeable chunk of my life uptight and nervous.

I get in my head, particularly when I believe I need to perform around other people, whether on a podcast, in a social setting, at a party or on a stage.

I’ve since overcome much of it by letting go of the need to be a certain way.

I also found compassion for myself because I could see I cared about making connections work.

Self-understanding like this helped a lot. People who are indifferent to the need to connect with others successfully are rarely nervous.

It’s also completely human to worry about shit like this.

Seeing that helped too. I used to think there were special hacks and mindsets I needed to adopt to be more chill and cool and funny and awesome.

Positive affirmations.

Imagine them naked.

Believe you’re confident.
