Thank you for this Alex. Not because this is about coffee, I am staying on that bandwagon! But because this is about anything and everything. As a physician nutrition and obesity medicine specialist I tell my patients that we have to abdicate what feels good in the moment for what we want to feel in the long run. I tell this to myself when I come home and see my hubs pour himself a glass of wine and I know as much as it will feel good in the moment tomorrow, next week, next year it will not and again the next morning when I want to hit snooze but opt to lace up my sneakers instead. It applies to my health, my work, my parenting, to absolutely everything. So as I happily drink my coffee (and I have science to back me up :) I give you a nod for these wise words because they can apply to everything always. Thank you.

After an egregious caffeine addiction since the age of 6, I successfully quit coffee just over a month ago and currently drink one cup of matcha each day. I fully embrace that the next step will be to transition away from caffeine all together, however it takes tremendous discipline to make it happen.

Posts like this leave me feeling replenished and hopeful, albeit somewhat daunted by the long journey ahead.

Thanks for sharing your story!

Hmm, sorry i don't think so.

I would instead recommend that like me you become a carnivore.

The transformation is incredible.Check it out on YouTube and my mate Jordan Peterson and his daughter swear by it but by all means do the research because i have checked all the top medical sites. It's my decision of course the decision must also be yours.

I have 1 or 2 coffees a day and I only get miffed by the rip off price.

Good luck for abstaining and each to their own.

On the carnivore diet I have also given up booze and the deadliest killer that no one talks about "sugar'!

No sweets and your world will change even more so without the caffeine.Sugar manufacturers are similar to cigarette and coffee makers they can't afford to tell the truth about their products.

Good luck.

I agree with all that I am already mostly carnivore. But you know coffee is plant based right?

Also Alex!! The disgusting poisonous sprays contribute to the hazards. If only organic coffee was available it might not be so toxic. Linda.

Yes he is sharing his heart .

However, Saying coffee of “whatever’s it is may be bad “

He needs to state for him , it is bad , or whatever.

It is all about semantics!

Yes, right?

It is not truth in science .

People get confused, who do not read science !

I apologize , Alex & whoever else I offended. Just saying…..

Alex you are spot on mate. I have got down to one a day. It sucks because coffee is instant gratification and everyone craves that. Well done on your discipline and thank you for, as always, telling it as it is and being authentic. It makes people identify much more with you. Kindest regards. Linda. ❤️❤️❤️

Hi Alex , I get what you are saying . I am a nurse & research states coffee in moderation ( not a pot a day ) can prevent cancer .

I believe you are doing your readers an injustice.

I drink 2 cups on the morning & that is it .

Control you bad habits & you would not have to go through withdrawals !

Change your paradym.

You know better …. In everything you do !

Please science is truth!

Where is your discipline?

I am extremely disappointed in your article .

Dawn why disappointed? I think you’re being a bit harsh here. Alex always shared from the heart and that’s what sets him apart. He’s telling about his experience. I’m grateful to him. I’m always grateful to him. Linda.
