Thanks for this.

Do you think the conceptual understanding of this helps?

In my experience, only the observation of thoughts led me to understand I was not my thoughts. Meditation is great for this.

no worries Livio, thank you. Understanding is everything. No need for techniques - just understanding that maintains good thinking habits.

I see this differently, but thanks anyway ;) I struggle to believe someone can get that he is not his thoughts without experiencing what that means.

I believe “Experience > explanation” and “insights > knowledge”.

Even if I’m sure a good read or suggestion can trigger the desire for a direct experience.

Great video thanks Alex.

It reminded me a little of Eckhart Tolle's videos on You Tube which is a compliment because you have of course your own way of telling us what you sincerely believe but Eckhart does I feel deserve a mention because his message is simply "we need to stay in the present and stop thinking about past upsets etc"

R Prager's videos are also worth watching.

I know you teach more than "positive thinking "but I feel it also perhaps needs to be emphasised that it is of course acceptable and normal to be depressed if something stressful has occurred to someone eg.death, realationship break up, illness, unemployment etc.whereas endemic depression should be cured because it is mind based.Otherwise we can all sound like that awful song "always look on the brighside of life".

Imagine how someone reacts to your video if any of the aforementioned major events had occurred so a qualification as to how we feel should perhaps be added.

I will follow your work closely.

Kind regards

Thanks Alex; this is spot on. Reminds me of the following quote : « Most of our suffering emerges from the way we feel the emotional consequences of our judgements rather than from the events themselves. »

We bamboozle ourselves in the way we feel about what we think. Being aware of this illusion is a powerful first step to reduce overthinking (and feeling like crap)!

(Btw I really appreciate your writing ; speaks volumes about the work you have done imo !)

I think before even fully understanding this, what helped me was just being 'aware' that it was the case. Awareness in a lot of things can be the start of change. Also absolutely on the sleep! I am not who I want to be when I get bad sleep! #EvilWoman 😬
